Many people may be surprised that I didn’t say Whey Protein (which is a protein that is a great post workout). Whey Protein is an easily & quickly digested protein, derived from milk (similar to Casein). But Casein digests slowly, which for me is great when on the road. When time is pushed to get to a venue and I need to fill a void between meals, Casein saves the day!

It fills in a gap for my body and allows it to keep working and fuels my muscles with the amino acids they crave – perfect for anyone doing graveyard shifts too. For this product I trust Optimum Nutrition Casein above all else.

Protein Bars

These have made my list purely out of practicality. They’re perfect snacks between meals or they can be used as a desert with a meal. Similar to casein protein shakes, they’re very good at filling in that gap between meals if my time is pressed on the road, when I need to space meals to once every 3 hours. My car always has a couple in the glove box for long journeys just incase I need them. They’re also very helpful at putting an end to that sweet tooth craving – which helps to avoid eating a load of junk!

There’s so many favourites that I have, it’s hard to pick…
